One year ago

A year ago this weekend, we celebrated Tet — Vietnamese New Year — with family and friends.  We’d been planning for another Tet celebration this weekend, but both Gorilla Girl and Monkey Man came down with severe colds, missed four days of school, and got us worried enough (and exhausted enough) that we decided to cancel the party this year.  Our decision was most certainly the right one, especially since Monkey Man is still not recovered, and will have to miss yet another day of school.

We made the most of the weekend, but we tried to relax, too.  Of course, I did some cooking, but only today, and nothing too outrageous.

We hung the new art — created by our friend, JB. Both of his pieces look lovely in our home, and Monkey Man and Gorilla Girl have each laid claim to their favorite.

The good thing about traditions is that we still have next year’s Tet party to anticipate.
